Brazilian striker Nilmar has confirmed that he has no intention in joining Inter Milan even though such a move could be the last big transfer in his career.
The 31-year-old is approaching the last few years of a career that has seen him play for different clubs across the world. He appeared to gain prominence during his spell with Villarreal in Spanish football, but strangely, he opted for a move to Middle East club Al Rayyan in the hope of better financial position. This may have been certainly true, but his career has gone in a downward path since then.
Now, Roberto Mancini is ready to offer him a back to European football with Inter Milan reportedly ready to offer around € 5 million for the striker. The club are currently in need of players capable of finding the back of the net on a consistent basis. Since much of the transfer budget has already been spent, Mancini is targeting value additions likeNilmar. The striker, though, has confirmed that he has no plans to join the Italian outfit since he is extremely happy in Brazilian football. Right now, he plays for one of the top teams in Brazil – International.
“I’m happy here. When I arrived I made it clear he wanted to fulfill my contract and to end my career here, if possible. Fortunately, I am well settled financially. It will not be why I will leave Inter. I’m happy here, and the family also want to stay many years in International. Unfortunately, there are people who think of creating situations to complicate the environment. My trip was marked from the start of the season,” said the striker. If he moves back to European football, then national team boss Dunga would consider calling him up regularly for the national team.
